During the prestigious 2012 James Beard Foundation Awards, former Star Island employee Christina Tosi, of Momofuku Milk Bar in New York City, walked away with the incredibly impressive Rising Star Chef of the Year award.
The Beard awards are the highest honor for North American food and beverage professionals.

Vaughn Cottage is a small library, museum and archives located on Star Island. This rich and diverse collection is open to the public during the summer months.
