Family Friendly Star
We're delighted to share that we have been able to create more family-friendly options for conferees. There is no room and board charge for children under six. They are now free, and the fee for evening childcare has been eliminated.
Since 1897, summer conferences on Star Island have been a source of renewal and inspiration for people of all ages. Art, music, natural history, world affairs, and spirituality are common themes, and conference attendance is open to everyone. Many conferees, known affectionately as "Shoalers," return to Star Island year after year for spiritual renewal, personal growth, and the family of friends they find there.
Each conference is self-administered, arranging for speakers, workshops, and childcare as well as registering participants. As a not-for-profit organization, Star Island Corporation's room and board fees are structured to provide affordable individual and family retreat.
In addition to the regular conference season, 2- to 4-day September events are also held on Star Island. In the past, these have included a women's retreat as well as dance, yoga, and photography groups from the Seacoast area.
