Two sessions offered: choose one or attend both. The other session meets from September 15 to September 17 and its subject is Cooking Up Comfort: Goodness and Well-Being from the Kitchen.

Edible Delight from the Settler’s Table

Whether you are an experienced home cook or are just beginning to expand your food awareness– all you need to bring is your appetite for knowledge, enjoyment and delicious food. Join Chef Patrice Gerard, PCEC for a epicurean journey back in time to prepare foods that might well have been on the dinner table when the Isles were the center of the Northeast fishing trade. Your program is abundant with edible wisdom and savory fare. Combining timeless culinary traditions with the bounty of the sea, delicious garden vegetables, breads and, of course, sweets– we will create our delectable menu. Master baker, Cherie Davis will lend a skilled hand in turning out delicious baked goods for our table. Menus will be planned based on seasonality and product availability so we will be using the freshest local ingredients.
Share the enjoyment of local culinary history in combination with the enchantment of Star Island. Engage in lively discussions, hear lore and legends from an expert Shoals historian, increase your cooking prowess, and enjoy wonderful food accompanied by your fellow participants and the skills, knowledge and talents of two enthusiastic professional chefs.
