Writers in the Round 2024

September 6 - September 9

Creative Connections

This retreat is open to poets and songwriters of all levels. There will be craft workshops for each genre and ample time to share work in progress. We gather nightly to share our work and support one another’s creative process. Our participants have described this weekend as “life-changing” and “transformative.” Our focus is to support one another as we play with language and sound and all its beautiful possibilities. Come join us!

Facilitators

Music Facilitator: Morgan Eve Swain

Morgan Eve Swain crafts songs that pull from loss and love in an attempt to put sound to the universality of grief and the human condition. Swain relies simply on guitar and lyrics and sometimes violin to conjure the memories, determination and love that invisibly link us together. MorganEve led songwriting workshops at the Yosemite Songwriting Retreat in 2022 and holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction Writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.  Visit her at
