How to Register

Five Simple Steps

  1. Look at the registration instructions in the conference listing for the conference you are interested in. Each conference is self-administered, and registration processes vary.
  2. Download the 2012 Registration Form.
  3. Fill out both sides of the registration form.
  4. Send to the Conference Registrar as directed in the conference listing, along with one check for the Room and Board Deposit and Conference Programming Fee (both specified in conference listing).
  5. The Conference Registrar will be in touch with you after your registration is received.

2012 Room and Board Rates

Our room and board rates are affordable and include housing, all meals and ferry transportation. In an effort to be family friendly, there is no room and board charge for children under six years of age. Please see individual conference pages for rate details.

Fuel surcharge

Due to a dramatic jump in diesel prices and limited budgetary resources, Star Island’s Board of Directors will implement a modest fuel surcharge which will likely be around $2 per night stayed on the island. This charge will be for all paying guests regardless of age, nights of stay or type of guest. Children under 6 years of age are not paying guests and therefore will not be charged a fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be noted separately on your bill as you check out.

If paying the surcharge presents a problem, guests may speak directly to Star Island CEO Victoria Hardy.

Room and Board Deposit

Star Island Corporation requires a deposit toward room and board for each person age six and over. The amount of this deposit is $200 for conferences five days or more in length and $100 for conferences four days or less in length. The deposit is due at the time of registration and is refundable up to four weeks prior to the conference start date. Deposit refunds requested within four weeks of the conference start date and resulting from exceptional circumstances are made at the sole discretion of the Star Island Corporation; inquire directly to the Island Registrar.

Minor Medical Release Form

Any person under 18 years of age who is attending a conference without a parent or legal guardian is REQUIRED to have a Minor Medical Release Form completed, signed by a parent or legal guardian, and returned to the conference registrar before the application can be accepted.

The Blue Book

The Star Island Conference Brochure (or Blue Book) has complete information about how to register for any conference and specific information about speakers, workshops, and themes for each conference. This annual publication is sent to our mailing list every winter. If you are new to Star Island, please call our office (603) 430-6272 to request a copy, or download it here. While the information below will assist you in planning to attend a conference on Star Island, you will need information from the Star Island Conference Brochure to determine conference specific schedules and rates.
