Join the Star Island Corporation as we embark to officially express our love for our summer home.
What do you love about Star Island? From sunsets to the grand march, from rowing to our world famous lime rickies, there is plenty for everyone to love about Star Island.
Last year, we asked you to share your Star Island pictures and memories. This year, we want you to say what you love about Star Island. You can show your love for Star Island in a few easy steps:
- Download and print the I Love Star Island Banner.
- Write what you love about Star Island on it.
- Then, take your picture holding up your I Love Star Island Banner.
- Post your picture to Star Island’s Facebook page or tweet #ilovestarisland with your picture on Twitter.
As examples, Celia Thaxter took a picture of herself saying she loves island gardens, and Oscar Laighton took a picture of himself saying he loves Cottage A.

World Famous Lime Rickey Recipe (Original)
1 part simple syrup (or to taste)
2 parts seltzer water
½ lime
After pouring simple syrup and seltzer into a cup, squirt in lime juice. Serve chilled.
Variations: Substitute ginger ale for seltzer to achieve a sweeter drink. Add a raspberry sauce to syrup for another layer of flavor.
