Let this be the year you experience Star Island!

As a conferee, you will enjoy the full Star Island experience by attending a “conference”. You will meet new friends, engage in exciting workshops and activities, and learn something new. There is something for every age and every interest, and most of our first-time conferees enjoy themselves so much they return to Star Island year after year. Conferences range in length from a weekend to a full week. For a full list of our conferences, please see the conference listings page.

As a conference overnight guest, you can try out a conference for a few days with full access to all conference activities (i.e. workshops, children’s programming). If you are interested in trying out a conference for a night or two, contact that conference’s registrar (see conference listings for details).

Personal Retreats are less-structured vacations of one night to a week or more where guests set their own schedule of activities and generally do not attend conference sponsored events. If you are new to Star Island, these options offer you a way to spend a few nights on the island.

Come as an individual, with a friend, or with your whole family, and get ready to have a wonderful time on our beautiful, historic island!

Couples and Groups

The “Couples and Groups” program encourages groups of two or more to come to Star Island the first time for a personal retreat or as guests of a conference. Whether it’s an overnight or a more extended stay, the couple or group is entitled to a $50 discount on room and board fees. Please use the form found here to request this discount.

How does the Couples and Groups program work?
To encourage more New Shoalers to visit Star Island, any group of two or more people sharing a room will receive a $50 dollar discount (per night, per room) on their room and board bill.

Is the Couples and Group discount available to conferees and conference guests or just personal retreaters.
The Couples and Group discount is available to first-time personal retreaters and first-time conference guests.  The discount is NOT available to registered conferees.

Is the Couples and Group discount applied to the entire bill?
No.  The discount applies to the room and board portion of the bill only.

Does an entire family or group receive a Couples and Group discount or just certain family members?
A total of $50 per night per room will be discounted from the group bill, i.e. each individual will not receive a $50 discount.

What if someone forgets to send in a certificate, or registers very late?
If someone requests a discount but does not submit a coupon before arriving on-island, please leave a note at the Front Desk for Island Registrar Kristin Laverty requesting a discount.

If someone disagrees with the amount of their bill come bill-payment time, to whom should they address their concern?

A note can be left at the Front Desk for Island Registrar Kristin Laverty.  She will work with you to resolve any issues.
