People interested in “testing the waters” of Star Island are welcome to visit us for one or more nights on a Personal Retreat. This unstructured time to visit and explore Star is a perfect way for first-time and repeat visitors to become familiar with the Island.

How to register for a personal retreat
Three Simple Steps
- Look at the calendar below to see when a room may be available
- Fill out the secure online registration form. Be sure to answer all questions thoroughly.
- We will contact you within 72 hours to confirm your registration or ask any questions should the need arise.

Room and Board Rates
Room and board rates are per person and include all meals. Adult rates are determined by room type (see accommodations page for details) and youth rates are based on age. Please also see our information on discounts for couples and groups. Rates appear below.

Boat Fares
Personal Retreaters come to Star Island via the Uncle Oscar out of Rye Harbor, or the Thomas Laighton out of Portsmouth. Fares range between $26 and $42 per person round trip depending on the time of day of the boat, and which boat you take.
Workshops in Poetry & Fiction, Song writing, Photography, Painting, Bird Watching, Cooking, Contra Dancing, Meditation and Yoga.
