Unschooling is a lifestyle choice that is built first and foremost on connection and trust. It is about putting our relationship with our child(ren) before anything else and knowing that learning will happen as a result of simply living in a peaceful, connected environment. Join us for a two or three day gathering of unschooling families; some who are experienced unschoolers and others who have just begun the journey. Specific topics will depend on what people want to learn more about, but likely getting started, deschooling, teen unschooling, and radical unschooling will all be discussed. This is a very informal gathering that will allow us to come together a community of like-minded families and talk about the things that are meaningful to us. Star Island is such a magical space and unschooling is such a magical lifestyle, that surely the two belong together!
Families with young children please note: there will be no formal childcare arrangements made. While some of the activities will be very family friendly, if you are going to want to take part in the discussions, please bring quiet toys your child loves or another adult/teen who can take your child on some of the many adventures the island offers.
