Assistant Foodservice Manager

Star Island Corporation seeks qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Food Service Manager. Responsibilities include overseeing the production of three family-style meals per day for up to 300 guests and three buffet-style meals for employees daily; training & supervision of the kitchen staff; and performing the duties of the Food Service Manager in their absence.

Qualifications: Five plus years professional cooking experience, preferably in a remote food service environment, such as on islands, boats or other isolated areas. Those with proven ability to thrive in a complex work environment are particularly encouraged to apply. This is an incredible opportunity! This is a full-time, seasonal May 24, 2010 to September 24, 2010, salaried position which reports directly to Food Service Manager. Full-time residency on Star Island is required with an allowance for two days off per week. Rustic on-island housing and board are provided. Transport to and from the island is provided at no cost to the employee.
