“Tell All the Truth but Tell It Slant”
8:00 AM EST
Theology – for all it’s potential complexity and abstraction – is almost always captured most clearly for me in the spare and beautiful words of the poet. Poetry touches us in ways that most conversation or prose cannot. Like our holiest writings – scripture from any tradition – poetry strips the word to its barest essentials and leads us closer to the bone of our emotional and spiritual reality. This morning we will ponder life’s gifts and mysteries through the unique lenses of a few of my favorite poets.
