Watercolor Adventure with Doris Rice
September 5, 2022 to September 9, 2022
You are invited to join me on Star Island, Isles of Shoals for a unique watercolor experience.
We’ll be following in the footsteps of other artists who have, for the past century, been inspired by the rugged beauty of this New England island.
Rocks and sea meet here to take us back in time. Life is more simple, just a short ride from the Portsmouth dock, but a world away!
Classes will be held indoors [studio] and outside (plein air).
Experience in painting brings discovery of your own style. You’ll work with skill development and build confidence with watercolor as a medium.
The community setting, working in a group setting provides supportive feedback…..A chance to Learn and Grow!
Workshop participants travel out to Star Island, travel details available upon registration. We will settle in exploring and sketching that first day, to get oriented. There will be painting demonstrations each morning, personal supervised painting time, gathering late afternoon for an evaluation of the day’s work. On departure day……sketchbooks and small works this day, because our materials will be packed for the boat.
Bring your own painting materials. Supply list available on www.dorisrice.com
Star Island provides a camp environment, with other groups mingling in the family dining room, shared spaces, involved in a variety of programs.
Accommodation choices are available, select for your own needs. Some rooms have a minimum of stairs to handle. The views everywhere are inspiring.
Walking out on the rocks is optional, there are many scenes right there near the Atlantic Hotel. We’ll cover all that we can in our time.
