In this 6-day workshop we will draw and paint the human form using graphite and watercolor. We’ll work from the clothed model, from photographs, and on location outside. We’ll learn to sketch the figures quickly with gesture drawing on location with the period Oceanic hotel and island as the extraordinary backdrop! Mornings offer daily instruction and demos in both figure drawing and watercolor technique. IWI will have use of the Art Barn or Lawrence Hall for workshop locations.
Afternoons will be free to explore and sketch the island’s sea/ landscapes, integrating the human element if you so choose. Supportive critiques during social hour will reinforce and expand your skills and insights.
Registration is limited. Some basic drawing experience is helpful. A list of suggested materials will be provided in the spring.
$450 per person, includes model fees
