Life on a Star 2 2024
August 18 - August 25
Searching for Life Elsewhere: Exploring Water Worlds of our Solar System.
“The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself” Carl Sagan
Through the lens of astronomy and the philosophical pursuit of understanding, we navigate the celestial seas, probing the mysteries of water worlds within our solar system, contemplating the profound implications for life’s existence beyond our earthly shores. Join us as we explore the depths of space and the depths of our own existential curiosity, seeking to illuminate the cosmic tapestry that binds us to the cosmos.
Youth Programming
Our Star Island family is how our children refer to the intergenerational friendships they build on island. Children 0-17 are invited to youth programming in both the moring and afternoon so parents can enjoy the theme speaker and workshops. The Duct Tape Regatta, bottle rockets, and “The Great People Hunt” are a few of the activities that the youth can participate in.
Theme Speaker
John Gianforte, Director, UNH Observatory, Astronomy Instructor
