Writers in the Round is a creative retreat for songwriters and poets entering its seventh year.
The spirit of the retreat is supportive, creative and collaborative. It is a time for stretching boundaries, cross-genre inspiration and fresh salt air. We welcome all levels of artistry. WITR offers daily classes, unstructured time for composition and collaboration, small group workshops and nightly song and poetry swaps.
Many participants return year after year, saying that they felt the experience was unprecedented in sparking creativity and in providing a safe learning environment. We choose WITR instructors who are experts in their craft, supportive of risk taking and truly nurturing. For the 2011 conference, our instructors will be Bob Franke for songwriting and John Perrault for poetry. We look forward to having you join us.
