Visiting The Island

Star Island offers a free tender service for boaters to get to the island from Gosport Harbor. Visitors are welcome to take a self-guided tour, grab a bite to eat at the Oceanic snack bar or the Island Grill (on weekends) or use our facilities. Historical and environmental tours are also offered.

Ferry services to Star Island are located in Portsmouth through the Isles of Shoals Steamship Company and at Uncle Oscar’s in Rye. Reservations are suggested.

The Oceanic Hotel accommodates conference guests but there are opportunities for individuals and families to spend the night and experience all Star has to offer. Rooms are basic with shared bathrooms in the hotel and more private accommodations in the ancillary motel.
