Midweek 1 2025
September 1 - September 5 or 7
As summer winds down, escape to a place of salt spray and ocean breezes with spectacular sunrises, sunsets and starry nights. All activities are optional, though we highly recommend morning and evening chapel as inspirational bookends to whatever else you choose to do with your time on Star. Relax in a rocker on the porch or kayak over to Smuttynose for a swim! Build new friendships, rekindle the old, kayak, sing, read, paint, relax and return home feeling refreshed!
For the first time there will be a MidWeek Plus option to extend your stay by 2 nights and return on Sunday instead of Friday but you would not be guaranteed the same room. Those who stay will be free to enjoy the island with a totally optional daily social hour. If you have always yearned to wave other Midweekers off the island on Friday and extend your relaxing week, now is your chance!
Alexandra de Steiguer, Star Island’s winter caretaker, will be presenting a program this year. For nearly three decades, she has been the only human resident of the remote Isles of Shoals during the five months of each harsh New England winter. From Star Island, one of nine small islands lying off the coasts of New Hampshire and Maine, she has deepened her relationship to contemplation, photography, the natural elements, and the written word. Checkout her website for more information and click here for links to interviews, short documentaries, etc.
