Quilting 2024

September 2 - 6 or September 9 - 13

A quilting conference is a relaxing, dream vacation for new and experienced quilters when the setting is the lovely and historic Star Island and the Oceanic Hotel. Regardless of your quilting preference – modern, traditional, bright, or scrappy, we can all benefit from a little Island time. You bring your sewing machine, projects, fabric and quilting tools. We will supply the ironing boards, irons, cutting tables, door prizes, games and demonstrations. With an amazing setting for a quilting conference that includes your room, your meals and your ferry to and from the island, all you need to worry about is what to sew next! Jean Kearney and Jaci Lawson, your quilting Captain and First Mate, will be arranging special events such as parties, ice cream socials and games. Each year we have a new theme that is revealed via email in the Spring – Zen Quilting, Mardi Gras, even Pirates – with costumes and special events tailored to our current theme. Other activities are available on the island such as history lectures, kayaking, rowing, walking tours, photography opportunities, and massages. All activities are optional – you can sew all day and all night. We have early birds and night owls and lots of time to work on your favorite quilting projects. If you have joined us before, welcome back! If you are new to our conference, welcome aboard!
