The Role Of Conference Registrar

What is the Conference Registrar Role?

The Conference Registrar is the main contact for conferee questions or registration issues. For some small conferences, the job of Conference Registrar is performed by the Conference Chair/Leader. For larger conferences, the Conference Registrar is a separate position. This position is necessary for the island to run properly and to provide your conference with the best possible experience. Good communication, accuracy, and timeliness are essential. The Island Registrar is available for assistance and guidance.

    Conference Registrars are responsible for:

  • Ensuring conferees have submitted all necessary information
  • Acting as the first point of contact for conferee questions
  • Making sure conferees feel welcome and have all of the information they need
  • (Main Season only)Creating a housing plan for your conference in collaboration with registrars from other conferences that week if applicable.
  • Depending on how your conference works, the Conference Registrar may also be responsible for things like name tags, providing reports to chairs, managing conference finances, creating a conferee directory etc.
