Star Island Corp is very pleased to announce the new LGBT Family and Friends Conference which will take place from Saturday, August 27 to Friday, September 2, 2011. This conference is for all families—especially gays, lesbians, bisexual, and/or transgender, their families, and their friends. All are welcome — singles, couples without children, couples with children, groups of friends, grandparents, and almost any other family configuration that you create. Themes and workshops in this conference will weave together fun, recreational activities, creative expression activities and sharing on serious matters to harness the power of love in a safe and beautiful place. There will be opportunity in witness advocacy to stop oppression, exclusion, and violence based on people’s identity. Participants will gain confidence and pride, make new friends, express themselves creatively, and have a lot of fun.

The Minister of the Week is Rev. Nate Walker, Minister to the First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia.
