New Hampshire Public Radio recently visited Star Island to report on life out at the Isles of Shoals with particular attention to our sustainability efforts. Talking with Director of Facilities Jack Farrell, Environmental Services Manager Kristen Simard, and Island Engineer Marshall Frye, among others, the reporting goes in-depth into the systems that allow Star Island’s summer community to thrive. From reverse osmosis machines creating potable water to a “co-gen plant” the size of a small shed, the NHPR report moves throughout all of the ins and outs of Star’s facilities.
